About us

The CureME research team is based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine’s International Centre for Evidence in Disability within the Department of Clinical Research. The CureME team collaborates closely with a lab team working within the Department of Life Sciences at Brunel University. The team is overseen by a Steering Committee that includes researchers, partner charities and representatives of people with ME.

CureME is at the forefront of participatory epidemiological, clinical and laboratory research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS) in the UK. Our research has focused on improving recognition, diagnosis and treatment of ME/CFS, and led to the creation of the UK’s first ME/CFS Biobank (UKMEB) — now open to external researchers across the globe.

We receive ongoing investment from the Ramsay Research Fund at the ME Association and ME Research UK.

The CureME team are gathered at the top of the stairs at the entrance to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. All members smile at the camera. The building is grey with the iconic chariot emblem above them.

What is ME/CFS?
