Luis Nacul
Principal investigator
Dr Luis Nacul is a Clinical Associate Professor at LSHTM. With a diverse background spanning public health, epidemiology, and clinical practice, he leads our multi-disciplinary team and the UK ME/CFS Biobank. His primary research focus lies in ME/CFS and chronic diseases.

Eliana Lacerda
Clinical lead
Dr Eliana Lacerda is a Clinical Associate Professor at LSHTM. Since 2007, Dr Lacerda has been instrumental in designing and implementing research studies on ME/CFS at LSHTM, making significant contributions to the field. She is co-PI on the current NIH grant.

Caroline Kingdon
Research fellow and biobank coordinator
Caroline Kingdon is a Research Fellow at LSHTM, responsible for co-ordinating the UKMEB. With a background in nursing, Caroline clinically assesses research participants and oversees the collection and distribution of biobank samples and data.

Jacqueline Cliff
Laboratory lead
Dr Jackie Cliff is Senior Lecturer in Biosciences at Brunel University, specialising in ME/CFS as the laboratory lead for the CureME team. She is co-PI on the current NIH grant. Jackie contributes significantly to enhancing clinical management and pioneering novel therapeutic approach.

Ji Sook Lee
Research fellow
Ji Sook Li, a Research Fellow at Brunel University, contributes to the CureME team’s lab-based efforts. Sook specialises in gene expression profiling, utilising techniques such as Microarray and MLPA, with a focus on TB and ME/CFS.

Research assistant
With a diverse background in computational neuroscience and medical technologies, Ella has overseen the implementation of the participant portal and has been greatly involved in the day-to-day management of the most recent study.

Project coordinator
Susan Sheedy, is a Project Coordinator at LSHTM, working closely with the team providing administrative, logistical and financial support. She manages the team’s research projects and liaises with funders.
